The Garcia Family Foundation pledged to support all Warfield Elementary students and their families for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year by providing all of the necessary school supplies for each grade. This donation provided welcomed financial assistance to those families whose children attend the Pre K – 5th grade school.
Each year the school sends a list of supplies students must have the first day of school. While all are expected to show up with those items purchased and in hand, The Garcia Family Foundation alleviated that burden by purchasing all of the items on their behalf prior to the first day of school.
In a special arrangement made by Cristina Smith, Principal of Warfield Elementary, students were able to pick up their supplies on August 9 during the Meet the Teacher event held before the start of the school year on August 12, 2024. Volunteers from the school, the community, and the Garcia team were on hand to support the distribution of the supplies to each student.
“The Garcia family and their entire team wholeheartedly support the children of Indiantown as Warfield Elementary continues to hold this community in a deep embrace. We are so proud of the commitment exhibited by the teachers and staff as they work to maintain a high standard of excellence while our community grows to new heights,” says school board member and former Indiantown resident, Marsha Powers.
On March 26, 2024, The Garcia Companies ushered in Terra Lago, a new neighborhood in the Village of Indiantown, with many of the Garcia family members in attendance alongside residents, community leaders, and area business owners. Consisting of attainably priced single-family homes and townhomes as well as apartments, assisted living, and retail options, this neighborhood will be a pinnacle of opportunity for the community and the surrounding area.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for us to continue playing a leading role in our commitment to this community and to further our quest for a focus on education,“ said Josh Kellam, President of The Garcia Companies and spokesperson on behalf of the Garcia Family. “We are fortunate to be playing a small part in the lives of Indiantown students while helping their families pave the way for a successful school year. As a company we are on a mission to help those that have had less opportunity, just as our founder, Edward “Eddie” Garcia, set in place upon starting the company in the early 1950’s.”
About The Garcia Family Foundation: Since its inception in 1988, the Sandra H. Garcia Foundation, is the pledge from the Garcia family to support the communities in which they live, work, and play. A generously funded resource, this foundation was formed out of the continued love and care for helping others that Eddie and Sandy Garcia have exhibited on a daily basis.
